Hybrid Wars takes the classic gameplay of top-down shooters and combines it with all the trappings of a modern release. Players can build a unit of futuristic mechs to dominate the battlefield, choosing from two very different heroes, four distinct vehicles, and twenty different types of weapons.
While the basic run-and-gun gameplay might be familiar, the way that it’s implemented across eight open world locations is pleasingly fresh. The game features 150 different objectives to complete, as well as new ways for players to test their abilities across co-operative and multiplayer modes.
