Before

Imagine a world without the constant hum of traffic. A world without skyscrapers, highways, or a bustling infrastructure. Think back to a pre-historic age, where our ancestors fought to survive against ruthless predators and unforgiving climates. This is the world that you’ll experience in Before, a game created by Bill Lowe and developed by Facepunch Studios. In the game, you’ll guide your tribe to find food, seek shelther, and fend off wild animals. But, don’t be mistaken, this game is more than just survival. Learn more about the game at the Before Wiki, a growing resource for game-related information.

If you’re thinking Before is a simple survival game, you’re gravely mistaken. As your tribe fights to survive, they’ll also begin to establish culture and rituals. Hierarchies will emerge. As your numbers grow and you begin to settle the land, your resilient tribe will flourish.

Before

The game is open ended. If your tribe dies, the game is over. Before includes changing seasons, varied weather conditions, and basic simulation for every creature in the game. You’ll cross seas, explore caves, discover ancient artifacts, and encounter other tribes – all in a beautifully designed, immersive world.

Before released their first game trailer at the 2014 Game Awards. The trailer features phenomenal, primal music by Jenny Minton. View the varied landscapes, myriad of wildlife, and beautiful graphics in the below video.

There is no scheduled release date for Before, but the development team hopes to release the game on PC, Mac, and Linux. To stay up-to-date on the game’s progress, follow Before on Twitter and Facebook. For more screenshots and game information, visit the Before Wiki.
