Surviving a zombie apocalypse is more than hacking and slashing your way to victory. You need to create alliances, build a shelter, and gather supplies. Dead State, which released today from DoubleBear Productions, is a turn-based RPG that effectively captures the perils you’ll face in a zombie takeover. The game is available today on Steam for $30. Gamepedia has partnered with DoubleBear to present the Official Dead State Wiki.
We're excited that one of the wikis here at Gamepedia that has an incredible and dedicated community is now the Official Dead State Wiki! Dead State, a high tension RPG available for PC through Steam Early Access, is set at the beginning of the zombie apocalypse. The walking dead are taking over the living as a deadly illness is spreading and turning survivors into infected humans. Your goals are simple: survive and do not get infected! In this single player game, you work on teaming up with other survivors, scavenging for food, shelter and water, and fighting off those who have turned.
Dead State takes place in the fictional town of Splendid, in central Texas. While you're not certain, you're pretty sure that civilization has collapsed on a global scale. Through the story, you find others to team up with you so you can build not just shelter, but a defendable fortress. Developer Double Bear gives you a world full of slow, shuffling zombies more akin to classic zombie thrillers, turn based squad combat, exploration and survival. Dead State is also a sandbox with plenty of objectives to come across. There is also the fact that you will not encounter all of your possible allies in a single game and future games have the possibility that your interactions will be completely different, allowing for plenty of replayability.
