It's not often that an editor blows us away with work on a wiki for an unreleased game, but that's what happened in July. Mug806 went above and beyond to document every scrap of info he could find about Satisfactory, an upcoming game from Coffee Stain Studios, and put it on the Official Wiki. Now, if Coffee Stain Studios sounds familiar, it's because they're the team behind the 2014 smash hit, Goat Simulator. And, yes, they're bringing the funny again. We caught up with our July 2018 Editor of the Month to discuss wiki editing and, of course, his MORE than Satisfactory work.

  • Check Out the Lichdom: Battlemage Wiki!

    • By Vendolyn Apr 14, 2014
    • Category IconNews
    • 0

Lichdom: Battlemage, from Xaviant Games, is currently available for Early Access through Steam. One of the newest wikis at Gamepedia is the Lichdom: Battlemage Wiki! In Lichdom: Battlemage, the mage is front and center in this gorgeous first person action game. You have several elemental styles at your disposal, each with its own behavior to master. Spells can also be crafted through looting components off of the corpses of your fallen enemies. Lichdom: Battlemage offers players an air of familiarity combined with a unique play experience from a perspective that hasn't been offered.

Not only does Lichdom: Battlemage offer players a rich world of crafting and magic, but a game where players need to rely on adaptability and strategy in order to overcome the obstacles they will encounter. One of the most interesting aspects of Lichdom: Battlemage is definitely the crafting system. Not only do you find components through your looting, but you also synthesize loot batches in hopes of scoring rarer loot to craft more devastating spells! While crafting, you select the type of spell you're constructing, such as area of effect, and then add in modifiers, which will allow you to create spells of your own design.

If you're interested in having a new gaming experience, there are two ways that you can help out with Lichdom: Battlemage. First, by getting into Steam Early Access, you have a chance to not only play the game early, but watch it unfold during development and have a say in how it is shaped. In addition, as more information becomes available, the Lichdom: Battlemage Wiki will always have room for new contributors and editors! You have the chance to assist in keeping this wiki up to date and one of the best possible community resources for Lichdom: Battlemage. To get started as a contributor, have a look at the Help Wiki for ideas!

  • The Official FaĆ«ria Wiki!

    • By Vendolyn Oct 30, 2013
    • Category IconNews
    • 0

Faëria, developed by Abrakham, is a new trading card game in the middle of its Kickstarter campaign. We're excited to bring the official wiki to Gamepedia! Unlike other trading card games on the market, Faëria is a one time purchased game, as the developer wants to create an even playing field, rather than have cards purchasable through microtransactions. But that is not the only thing that makes Faëria unique!

Seemingly blending board games, trading cards, roleplaying and strategy games, Faëria offers gamers a fantastic blend of favorite genres in an interesting manner! The game gives you morning, evening and night cycles, where new faëria is produced when the sun rises. Collect new cards through gameplay! The board is a recognizable hex board, that allows for building and resource gathering.

One dollar makes you a backer for Faëria, five will reserve your user name and fifteen gets you immediately into the closed beta! Entering beta now means that your account is set -- you won't have to worry about wipes between now and the game launching! Want an exclusive Kickstarter avatar? Become a Fortune Hunter for visibility anywhere you can display your account! With the Explorer tier, you'll have access to an exclusive test server and developer feedback. You and four friends can have all the fun together with the Trinity tier. Enjoy signed memorabilia? The Precious tier is just for you! With the Luxurious tier, you can even have a physical deck of your choosing! The rewards don't stop there and there are so many amazing levels to choose from!

Faëria might be successfully funded, but you can help get through stretch goals! Not only does this trading card game offer what you would expect from a TCG, but there are also solo quests, a progressing story line and a fantastic community! The forums offer tutorials to get the newest member up to speed.

Another way to be a part of the community is by contributing to the wiki. Whether you found out of place punctuation or need to add in an entirely new page for a card you couldn't find, each contributor only strengthens the community. Gamepedia makes sure you have the tools you need to be as successful as possible! If you just need the basics, or a refresher on what to do, check out the help page found on any wiki. There is also the Help Wiki, complete with tutorials, for a better overview. Got a question you can't find the answer to? Join #Gamepedia on IRC and ask us!

Are you aching to give Faëria a try? Gamepedia is offering beta keys to the first 1000 people to request them HERE. These codes will grant full access until Friday November 9th at midnight CST, but if you enjoy the game you can upgrade your account to a full-access beta by donating to the Kickstarter project.

  • Path of Exile Launches, Scion Prestige Class Released!

    • By Vendolyn Oct 23, 2013

    • 0

Today at Gamepedia, we're thrilled that one of our favorite games, Path of Exile, has officially launched! Even while the game was in beta, The Path of Exile Wiki had a rapidly expanding community, ready to contribute any information they could get their hands on! Have a look at how expansive the wiki is while you are enjoying the game's launch. Equally exciting is the announcement that the game will launch with a chance to become a Scion -- rescue her from exile in Act 3!

Players from beta have been talking about how they enjoy choosing both passive and active abilities and the progressive story. Path of Exile looks to bring grit back to the competitive action RPG genre, with Grinding Gear Games offering players a world full of catastrophe and nightmarish monsters. The world of Wraeclast is dark and ready for your exploration!

Some of the most interesting aspects that Path of Exile has to offer would be the League and Events systems. As stated on their website, Grinding Gear wanted to captivate that fresh server race to the top feeling, without players needing to rebuild or worry about how this could possible affect economies. To solve this, they have introduced instanced League areas, each with different rulesets, including the ability to break into player instances and take them for all they've got!

While you're enjoying the competition and story Path of Exile has, don't forget that the wiki always has room for new contributors! Editing and contributing information couldn't be easier with all of the tools Gamepedia provides you with. Each wiki has its own help page for basic information, but the Help Wiki goes deeper and even includes tutorials. Gamepedia staff members and community members are always available in IRC -- join #Gamepedia and say hello!
